Today Is New Year’s Eve

Today is New Year’s Eve in the Christian church calendar, because tomorrow is the first day of Advent—the first day of the church’s year.

How many New Year days do you honour? There’s January 1st, the first day of our Gregorian calendar year. There’s September, which is for many of us the beginning of the school year, though the first day varies across provinces and states.

There’s Rosh Hashanah, the first day of the Jewish New Year. This year it began on September read more

What Is Important Right Now?

I’m a juggler, usually with at least three or more balls in the air at once. I’m speaking figuratively, of course. I’m hopeless at real juggling, just like I am at running, though I did improve as a runner when I became a mother. Perhaps from chasing little people around! And of course, that’s how I learned my figurative juggling skills as well.

Because I’m always juggling (and you might be too), I have to keep focusing and refocusing on what is really important to read more

Trust the Mystery

Quantum wisdom is that energetic potential and guidance that’s available to each of us. How do we find it? Nina Shoroplova says, “We get there when we trust the mystery and release the striving and struggle in our lives.”

She should know—she’s worked as a holistic healer and she’s recovered from a range of life-threatening dis-eases (her spelling).

Shoroplova is the author of Trust the Mystery: Questions, Quotes, and Quantum Wisdom, published in September 2015 by Influence read more

What Brings You Joy?

By nature, most of us are joy seekers, but we don’t automatically know what brings us joy. jam-428094__180It happens perhaps too fleetingly to notice what triggers joy.

For one person it might be giving a friend a jar of homemade jam; for another it might be dirt biking with two buddies; for yet another it might be picking up her kids at daycare at the end of the day—their eager little faces warming her heart.

Singing in community is one of the ways I feel joy in my heart.

The other day I was at a City Soul Choir rehearsal, enjoying the singing so much, and recognizing that heart-filling joy. A fullness. I looked around and knew again, “Singing in community brings me such joy” and I relaxed into the feeling, letting it expand, and enjoyed the joy even more, purposefully.

When I came home, I posted about City Soul Choir’s upcoming concert on Facebook, because I wanted to share the joy I had felt.

The concert itself might not be what brings you joy.

Do you know, really know, what brings you joy?

Can you follow your passion to bring more of that joy into your life?

In my book Trust the Mystery: Questions, Quotes, and Quantum Wisdom, and in my newsletter, “Creating Life on Purpose,” I offer many ways of figuring out how to know your purpose and how to connect that purpose with what brings you joy.

I would love to help you find your joy.

A Taste of Chapter One of Trust the Mystery

Here’s a taste of chapter one from my book, Trust the Mystery, from the section entitled “Sensing Energies.”

~ Four or Five Physical Senses, or Nine ~
“A sense is a physiological capacity of organisms that provides data for perception.”

Up until the time I studied human anatomy and physiology at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in Vancouver in 2010 (having previously studied human anatomy during physiotherapy training read more
